DEVO The Screenprint That Captures 50 Years of Iconic Rebellion

We had the honour of printing this DEVO tour poster featuring their unmistakable red energy dome hats. Screenprinted in six colours on matte silver foil, this poster is a bold tribute to 50 years of de-evolution!

As DEVO embarked on their highly anticipated 50 years of de-evolution tour, we had the incredible opportunity to print this striking concert poster for their European dates. The design by Costa Rican-based artist Tommo77 is a reinvention of one of DEVO's favourite timeless images, an illustration of the band by the iconic poster artist Scrojo. Referencing constructivism and revolutionary themes, the artwork is a tribute to a band that has spent the past 50 years challenging conventions and breaking new ground. The poster perfectly encapsulates the rebellious spirit and unique style that DEVO has brought to music and culture.

Tommo77’s design pays tribute to DEVO’s signature style, featuring the band in their iconic red energy dome hats. Bold, quirky, and irreverent, these hats have become symbols of DEVO’s music over the decades. Naturally, they take centre stage in the artwork, perfectly capturing the essence of DEVO’s unique aesthetic.

As always, we approached the printing process with precision to ensure the artwork was accurately realised in print. Screenprinted with six opaque inks on matte silver foil, the final edition masterfully reflects DEVO’s industrial, art-rock style. The foil adds depth and a subtle shimmer, While the bold colours create a sharp, dynamic contrast, bringing Tommo77’s bold design to life.

We want to extend a huge thanks to Sandbag for giving us the opportunity to be part of this iconic project. It’s always a pleasure collaborating with you and working on something as culturally significant as DEVO’s 50 Years of De-Evolution tour has been a real highlight. There’s something uniquely special about crafting posters for bands that leave such an enduring legacy, and this project has undoubtedly been one for the books.

Those lucky enough to catch DEVO on this tour can grab one of these posters. It’s not just a concert souvenir; it’s a celebration of 50 years of de-evolution and a testament to a band that has never been afraid to defy expectations.
