RAN by João Ruas commissioned by Black Dragon Press, and separated and screen printed here at the White Duck Editions studio.

We’ve spent the last few months proofing and printing these exquisite editions, which sold out in record time when released by Black Dragon Press.  Printed in 9 colours on 300gsm Somerset Satin, there are three editions, each dedicated to one of the sons from the epic 1985 Japanese period tragedy RAN directed by Akira Kurosawa —TARO has the yellow flags, JIRO the red flags, and finally, SABURO has blue.

After a labour intense production, we’re so happy with how this epic trilogy of screenprints came out.  Thanks to João and James at Black Dragon Press for continually pushing the envelope.
